Ex-Red Sox reliever Javy Lopez (seen in this photo with a young fan at a BoSox Club luncheon) signed a one-year, $775,000 deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In four seasons with the Red Sox, Javy posted a respectable 3.30 ERA, working a total of 128.1 innings, yielding only 122 hits. He went 5-3 with Boston.

Bruce Donahue Honored With Jernegan Award
Bruce Donahue, immediate past President of the BoSox Club was awarded the prestigious Jernegan Award at the November 11, 2009 luncheon. Bruce has given the club outstanding leadership for years and is the leading advocate for US Postal Service approval of the issuance of a stamp honoring the greatest hitter of all time, Ted Williams of the Boston Red Sox.
