Mary Norton-Bryants' Memories

It was before I was really into Baseball ("Go A’s, but root for the Red Sox if they make it to the Series!") I was in high school and everybody in Massachusetts was into the Year of the Impossible Dream. We were playing Grafton High School in field hockey on a humid Fall day on the football field in Millbury, Mass. Yes it was “Mass.” back then. Miss Harrington, our coach, stopped our field hockey game to listen to a key inning to the Red Sox game on the way to the pennant! I remember Yaz and Tony C. Everybody from both teams was screaming so much for the Red Sox. We forgot our own rivalry! It was a truly memorable moment in life!—Mary Norton-Bryants
